TDYN (Hey You) Remix
Caleb & Kahlil/D-LAB Beat

Here’s another recent recording project, featuring Caleb Nungesser, a sophomore at Holderness School and slam poet Kahlil Almustafa, a visiting artist. My Artward Bound student group created a beat using a disassembled drumkit, cardboard boxes, washboard, and a vacuum cleaner. I added a keyboard part, string wash, and bass. Kahlil and Caleb worked up their words, we roughed out the form, did some slicing and dicing, and then they recorded their vocals…in one take. They did it live later that night and rocked it!
